El Dr. Roberto Carrasco Alvarez es profesor investigador asociado B del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Posee el título de ingeniero electrónico por el Instituto Tecnológico de Morelia, el titulo de maestro en ciencias por el CINVESTAV-IPN así como el grado de Doctor en ciencias por la misma institución. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores nivel I, tiene un índice H de 7 y cuenta con 25 artículos JCR. Sus líneas de investigación incluyen los algoritmos de procesamiento de señales para el área de las telecomunicaciones así como su implementación eficiente en hardware.
