El Dr. Javier Gómez es profesor del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Es Ingeniero en Mecatrónica con Maestría en Ciencias en Ingeniería en Electrónica y Computación y Doctorado en Ciencias de la Electrónica y la Computación. Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores Nivel I, sus líneas de investigación incluyen la robótica, vision por computadora y sistemas inteligentes.
