Dr. JOSÉ ANTONIO SILVA GUZMÁN
Resumen curricular:
José Antonio Silva Guzmán es profesor investigador y jefe del Departamento de Madera, Celulosa y Papel (DMCyP) del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Obtuvo su Doctorado en Ciencia e Ingeniería de la Madera en el Colegio Forestal de la Universidad Estatal de Oregon en el año 2004. En 1998 obtuvo el grado de Maestro en Ciencia de Productos Forestales por la Universidad de Guadalajara y en 1989 el de Ingeniero en Tecnología de la Madera en la Facultad de Ingeniería en Tecnología de la Madera de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. Ha impartido cursos a nivel doctorado, maestría y licenciatura sobre Estructura y Calidad de la Madera, Biodeterioro y Protección de la Madera, Tecnología de Productos con Base en Madera, Propiedades Tecnológicas de la Madera y Tecnología de la Madera. Sus principales actividades las desarrolla en el área de los Biomateriales Sustentables relacionadas con madera y materiales base madera. Las líneas investigación son: Usos funcionales y biodeterioro de biomateriales lignocelulósicos sustentables de madera y residuos agroindustriales e Innovación, diseño y desarrollo de procesos, productos, adhesivos verdes y sistemas constructivos de materiales sustentables. Pertenece al Cuerpo Académico Ciencia y Tecnologia de Materiales Lignocelulosicos, UDG-CA-158, Nivel Consolidado. Desde 2008 es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, Nivel 1. Ha dirigido proyectos nacionales e internacionales relacionados con la formación de recursos humanos, el uso sustentable de maderas y la transferencia social del conocimiento. Estos proyectos fueron financiados por agencias del gobierno de los Estados Unidos y la International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO, Yokohama, Japon). Estos proyectos fueron interdisciplinarios y participaron investigadores de las áreas de biomateriales sustentables, forestales, tecnología de la madera, economía y diseño de diversas instituciones académicas de México, USA y Alemania. Participó en el diseño del doctorado en Biomateriales Sustentables y en la reestructuración de las unidades académicas del DMCyP. También ha realizado proyectos en comunidades indígenas que cuentan con empresas madereras. Ha dirigido tesis a nivel licenciatura, maestría y doctorado. Ha publicado varios artículos en revistas indizadas. Es gestor ante varios organismos nacionales e internacionales, gobierno, industriales y organismos sociales y comunidades. Es autor de tres libros y varios capítulos sobre temas de madera.
