El Dr. Oscar Blanco Alonso es profesor e investigador en el Física del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Tiene estudios de Lic. en Física, Maestría en Ciencia de Materiales y Doctorado en Física de Materiales. Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores nivel I, tiene un índice H de 10 y cuenta con 31 artículos JCR, además de 2 capítulos de libro. Sus líneas de investigación incluyen las propiedades de materiales superconductores, ferroeléctricos y semiconductores, desarrollo de películas delgadas y el estudio de las propiedades físicas y estructurales de materiales, tales como: estructura cristalina, propiedades de transporte electrónico y propiedades magnéticas, así como su aplicación en dispositivos.
