Dr. MAXIMILIANO BARCENA SOTO
Resumen curricular:
El Profesor Maximiliano Bárcena-Soto estudió la licenciatura en Ingeniería Química en la Universidad de Guadalajara, México y posteriormente la Maestría en Ciencias en Ing. Química en la misma Universidad. Tiempo después en 2000, obtuvo el título de Dr. rer. nat. de la Universität Humboldt zu Berlin con la especialidad de Fisicoquímica obteniendo una mención de Magna cum laude. Su trabajo doctoral lo realizó bajo la supervisión del Profesor Dr. Fritz Scholz. También fue asistente de investigación en el área de Fisicoquímica del Prof. Dr. Lange en la Universidad de Greifswald (Alemania). Desde 2001 es Profesor del Departamento de Química de la Universidad de Guadalajara, actualmente tiene la categoría de Profesor Investigador Titular C. Es titular de la materia de Fisicoquímica y a impartido también Termodinámica. Del 2002 al 2010 fue Coordinador del Posgrado Maestría en Ciencias en Química. De 2010 a 2012 fue Jefe del Departamento de Química, durante su gestión fue fundador del Doctorado en Ciencias en Química de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Desde el 2002 es Profesor con Perfil Deseable PRODEP. Ha pertenecido al Sistema Nacional de Investigadores desde 2002. Actualmente es nivel II. Ha supervisado a 23 estudiantes de maestría y 13 de estudiantes de doctorado. Es autor de 68 artículos originales con más de 750 citas. Ha escrito dos capítulos de libro. Ha participado en cuatro patentes en donde se aplica la electroquímica. También ha sido revisor del libro de texto de Fisicoquímica, escrito por R. Chang. Sus intereses de investigación son la termodinámica aplicada a las celdas electroquímicas, la síntesis de nanopartículas y nanomateriales mediante microemulsiones y hexacianometalatos, y su caracterización mediante métodos electroquímicos.
